Vintage Caravan Nationals 2024 – Stanthorpe QLD, 26 April to 3 May

NATS24 in Queensland for the first time!

Stanthorpe, southeast Queensland
Friday 26 April to Friday 3 May 2024

We’re inviting everyone who loves vintage caravans from across Australia to get together at the Vintage Caravan Nationals  – in beautiful Queensland for the first time!

We’ve chosen Stanthorpe as our gathering place, for so many great reasons:

  • it’s as close to Melbourne, Adelaide and southern areas as you can find anywhere in Queensland;
  • it connects with all major highways from north and south;
  • it’s a vibrant small town with great facilities, friendly people and a main street lined with old Queensland-style pubs;
  • it has heaps of attractions including amazing National Parks, wineries, scenic drives, museums and orchards;
  • its caravan park has a stunning bushland setting.

Stanthorpe is at elevation with a chill in the evenings, so bring your jackets and enjoy the captivating scenery of this area.

These places are right next to each other; we have activities planned in both; and they are both dog friendly!

We all know how everyone loves seeing over 100 vintage and classic caravans together all in one place. We also know that our people come from many strands: they may have a vintage caravan, a classic, a reproduction or a modern caravan built since 1980 – or may have friends or family with vintage vans.

To cater for everyone, at NATS24 we’re asking vintage and classic caravans (built before 1980) to stay at Top of the Town Tourist Park and for modern caravans (built 1980 or later) to stay at the Showground. People without caravans are welcome to book cabins and motel units at the Top of the Town.

Top of the Town Tourist Park is a large older-style park with birds, big gum trees and lovely bush walks. The park provides free hardwood firewood to two designated large fire pits and is happy for people to have fires in small fire pits elsewhere. We plan to have camp oven cookups some nights. You may need annexe mats and long power leads on some sites.

Stanthorpe Showgrounds*, next door to Top of the Town, has up to 300 sites for $27/night including power & water, or $22/night unpowered. There is a mix of older style showers. Fires are NOT allowed at the Showground. We will hire a vintage tea room in the Showground that can be used as a camp kitchen for the week of the Nationals.

*NOTE: As the Showgrounds have scheduled a cattle auction on 2nd May, stays at the Showgrounds are now limited to 1st May checkouts only. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Book the caravan park directly, book the showgrounds through us

Book your vintage or classic caravan directly with Top of the Town.

  • The park prefers contact by EMAIL at info@topoftown.com.au.
  • If you plan to be part of a group, please work out a group name amongst yourselves and, when booking, tell the park so they can situate you together.
  • The park (with rare exceptions) will not be allocating specific site numbers in order to accommodate the many caravan groups for our event.
  • There are no ensuite sites available for booking. The two park sites with ensuites will be made available to everyone to use.

Camping at the Showground is being reserved totally for our Nationals, so please do not contact the Showground direct as the Showground Committee has asked us to collect camping fees on their behalf. You can book and pay through our entry form.

To cover our admin costs – plus a couple of goodies – entry to NATS24 is  a nominal fee of $15 per caravan, across both venues.
